Paddy’s Tarn at approximately 1100m frames the eastern side of Black Bluff. Magnificent stands of pines are mainly King Billy and Arthrotaxis Laxifolia which is an intermediate (hybrid) with the Pencil variety (Arthrtaxis Cupessoides).
There are native shrimp and Galaxids as well as a small campsite on the southern shore.
